L’Ecole de Choix primarily serves children and families living in conditions of extreme poverty in Haiti.
L’École de Choix is anchored by the principle that a quality education provides individuals with the fundamental tools to affirm individual dignity through the choices they make. Choice and autonomy grant us our dignity; and it is that dignity that assures each of us the very heart of our humanity.

After the earthquake in January 2010, my Haitian friends came to me with a plea. They said that, while schools were being rebuilt, many children living in conditions of extreme poverty would continue to be denied access from school or have access only to low quality schools that lacked electricity, technology, school meals and textbooks and would be taught by teachers who were under-prepared.
